Synchronised Swimming

AquaFun is the 8, 9 and 10 stages of the ASA learn to swim pathway for synchronised swimming. It introduces children to the increasingly popular sport of synchronised swimming. Through the stages children develop advanced water skills, strength, timing and breathing control in order to perform a routine of impressive dance and gymnastics moves in the water.

AquaFun can be enjoyed by both boys and girls from 6 years require a minimum entry standard see below.

AquaFun can be enjoyed at multiple clubs in Leeds and also at selected leisure centres.

  • Wetherby leisure centre, Rothwell Leisure Centre and Kippax Leisure Centre for Stage 8.
  • Pudsey Pearls synchronised swimming club is based at Pudsey leisure centre and Aireborough leisure centre and they deliver stages 8, 9 and 10. For further information visit www.pudseypearls.org
  • The City of Leeds synchronised swimming club is based at Kippax leisure centre, Rothwell leisure centre and John Charles Centre for Sport and they deliver stages 8, 9 and 10. For further information visit External link opens in new windowwww.synchroleeds.org

  • Minimum standard for stages 8, 9 and 10 is the ability to swim 100 metres in two strokes. Progression from Aquafun is into the synchronised swimming squads. Entry into the squads is via progression from Aquafun, individual assessment or by talent ID.
