Cricket Nets

The outdoor community cricket net at John Charles is a high quality 4 lane practice facility, available to hire during the summer by the local cricket community. Bookings are accepted by clubs, schools, community groups and individuals who wish to hire single or multiple lanes. There are also bowling machines available to hire on request.
Please note there is a maximum of 8 players per lane at any one time.

How To Book
No membership or registration required, bookings can be made 7 days in advance, click here to book online or visit the Active Leeds App
Block bookings can be made, however these need to be done direct with the John Charles team, please email jccs@leeds.gov.uk for further information.
On arrival please visit the reception at John Charles to receive your allocated access code, plus the bowling machine if pre booked for hire.
Cost per hour
£10 per lane for all community users
£25 per lane and bowling machine for all community users (to be collected and returned to the reception desk)
£305 per lane for private coaching
Conditions of Use
General booking terms and conditions apply plus the addition of the following points specific to the booking of the cricket nets facility at John Charles Centre for Sport.
- Please ensure the facility area is left clean and clear of property and litter prior to leaving.
- The hirer shall ensure all attendees comply with signs and other published rules for users of the facility.
- There shall be no sub-letting of the facilities to another club, company or individuals.
- Should the hirer be a named cricket club or organisation, there may be a request for qualifications at the time of booking i.e. safeguarding, coaching qualifications etc.
- All persons under the age of 18 must be supervised by an adult, to the correct ratio of 1 adult to 8 children. For larger coaching groups, 2 adults must be present.
- Should there be additional access requirements, please contact jccs@leeds.gov.uk prior to attending. JCCS will make every effort to accommodate these where possible.
- Maximum of 8 players per net lane at any one time.
- Portable electrical appliances can only be brought in to the venue with prior written consent from JCCS and an in-date PAT test certificate or label.
- All persons and hirers wishing to use the bowling machines bust be an ECB Level 2 coach. The minimum age for use of the bowling machine is 18.
