Who We Are

Positive Futures is a national, sport-based social inclusion programme for children and young people aged 10-19/25, offering opportunities to engage in employment, education and training commissioned by the Police & Crime team.

 

 

About UsAbout Us<div class="ExternalClassC7FA692FD52D4D789A8EBA07051E3554"><b>About Us:</b> <p>The positive futures programme addresses anti-social behaviour and youth crime, and contributes directly to making Leeds a safer place by:</p><p>•Reducing anti-social behaviour (ASB) in Leeds.</p><p>•Supporting local communities to tackle anti-social behaviour through engagement and diversionary activities.</p><p>•Addressing the risk factors and strengthening the protective factors to enable young people to choose leadership and positive community action instead of crime.</p><p>•Reducing crime and, by preventing re-offending, decreasing demand for front-line criminal justice services for young people.</p><p>•Make Leeds Young people and community safer and feel safer.</p><p>•Engage and empower Leeds young people.</p><p>The Positive Futures programme engages children and young people in 1:1 and group activities, including gym, swimming, fitness, boxing, football and other physical activity. The programme also has access to other wrap around services such as substance misuse support and alternative training/education for those children and young people not currently engaged in education, employment or training (NEET- Not in education, Employment and Training).</p> <br></div>

We work closely with a variety of departments, organisations, and services across Leeds, such as Safer Leeds, Barca, the Youth Service, the Youth Offending Service, third sector organisations and Children's Services. Inspirations Inspirations <div class="ExternalClassF84FACBBBCCC41EBAD847D98DDF053DD">Throughout the programme they will take part in a range of activities delivered by qualified coaches, as well as taking part in Personal, Social, Healthy and Economic Education (PHSE) and Youth Crime Workshops via the Children and Young People Support and Prevention Service and Safer Schools team. We also work with well established Third Sector organisations like St Giles, they ‘use our expertise and lived experience to support people who are not getting the help they need.’<br></div> <p></p>
MentoringMentoring<div class="ExternalClassDB235558089840A39F9E40CAB24F876C"><p>To provide a <strong>Mentoring </strong>service for children and young people to create a positive relationship on a one to one basic or groups work to advice, assist, support and motivate young people to develop their soft skills and broaden their perspectives.<br></p><p><strong>Mentoring programme aim to:</strong><br></p><ul><li>Create friendship and trust.<br></li><li>Create achievable and sustainable personla goals.<br></li><li>Attend regular support and supervision sessions.<br></li><li>All sessions are strictly confidential.<br></li></ul></div>
Healthy HolidaysHealthy Holidays<div class="ExternalClass21DFB5C8421A4143B4D8481F8E2BE03D"><div>The Leeds Healthy Holidays programme aims to tackle the food insecurity and hunger, isolation and inactivity experienced by many children in areas across Leeds.</div><div>Healthy Holidays provides a range of enrichment activities, including arts & crafts, sports & games, gardening & harvesting, outdoor crafts, cooking activities, digital creativity. </div><div><br><br></div><p><br></p></div>

Leeds Employment Hub is part funded through the European Social Fund. It pulls together a number of projects aimed at supporting Leeds residents, including the Leeds City Region Employment Hub managed by West Yorkshire Combined Authority, Youth Engagement and Progression Programme, and Skills Training and Employment Pathways managed by City of Bradford Metropolitan District Council.
