Cancer Prehab

Our Cancer Prehab Shape up 4 Cancer Surgery programme in partnership with Macmillan Cancer Support is a free exercise, nutrition and psychological wellbeing programme that aims to improve the health of patients undergoing cancer surgery at Leeds Teaching Hospitals.

Delivered in partnership with Leeds Teaching Hospital, the University of Leeds and Leeds Beckett University, the programme helps people with certain cancers prepare for and recover from surgery through the provision of guided physical activity, nutrition and psychological wellbeing support.

Physical Activity support involves a personalised activity plan, access to specific weekly group exercise classes and supported gym clinics.

Eligibility Criteria:

This is initially a pilot programme for specific pathways from four cancer specialities:

Urology: bladder cancer
Colorectal cancer
Pancreatic cancer
Stomach: Oesophageal cancer
