Active Leeds School Swimming
Swimming is an essential life skill that every child should have the opportunity to learn. Schools are responsible for providing high-quality swimming instruction and water safety education to all students, regardless of their skill level, during their primary education. The goal is to ensure that every pupil can meet the national curriculum standards.
What We Offer
The Active Leeds School Swimming programme is dedicated to providing the opportunity for all children in Leeds to access swimming. Pupils will start the their learning journey, which equips them to meet the needs of the national curriculum in relation to both swimming and survival. The service endeavours to enrich all pupils’ swimming experiences.
Further support is given to pupils with additional needs through specific lesson planning. The aim of which is to help develop the specific needs of individuals, creating pathways and opportunities for development of skills within the limitations of their disability or additional needs.
Active Leeds provides qualified instructors and lifeguards and arranges pool hire. There is also an opportunity to book transport through the West Yorkshire Combined Authority contracted hire.
